Moving from Day One to LifeWell
A private journal app for entries with photos, audio and location, with printed books. Choose Day One if you journal daily and want end-to-end encryption, prompts, and a printed book of your entries. Choose LifeWell if the memories should hang off the people they belong to, and the free plan should not stop at one photo.
Last checked 2026-11-07. The full comparison is on LifeWell and Day One.
How to move across
- Open LifeWell and sign in. Start with yourself.
- Add the people you already have in Day One, one record at a time (people). LifeWell does not import from other services, so start with those closest to you.
- Link them to each other, and the family tree draws itself.
- Add the memories that matter, with a photo, a date and a place (memories).
- Keep Day One for anything LifeWell does not do, such as historical records or DNA.
